Joseph “Joe” M. Oliver, 74, passed away peacefully in Lake Helen, Florida on April 7th, 2024.

Born in Newark, NJ on November 1st, 1949, Joe attended St. Lucy’s Elementary School and Barringer High School before eventually being drafted into the Army during the Vietnam War. He was stationed in Quang Tri Province from August 1969 to August 1970 and was proud to have served his country. He earned several prestigious awards during his military service, including a Bronze Star, an Army Commendation Medal, an Army Good Conduct Medal, a National Defense Service Medal, and a Vietnam Service Medal. After returning from Vietnam, he worked as a candy maker with his father, Chandler and eventually finished his career in security and loss prevention.

Joe was an avid movie-lover, his tastes spanning from classics to comedy. He loved to make people laugh by reciting humorous scenes from movies, pointing out the absurdity of situations, and finding joy and humor in nearly every circumstance. His sense of humor and kindness were infectious to all of those around him and he was adored for his good-nature, thoughtfulness, and consideration for others.

Joe is predeceased by his parents, Chandler (1993) and Fannie (1982). He is survived by his beloved son, Michael (Kim), and his cherished partner, Kathy Martin. He is also survived by his dearest grandchildren, Trace, William, and Luca, his sisters, Ann Marie DeBenedetto and Annette Di Meola, and numerous nieces and nephews.
