Obituary of Joan C. Romeo
Joan C. Romeo, 69, passed away at Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune on March 2, 2010. Born in Long Branch, she previously resided in Red Bank before moving to Eatontown 46 ½ years ago.
Joan was a communicant of St. Dorothea’s RC Church in Eatontown and she attended St. Jerome’s RC Church in West Long Branch. She worked at JC Penny’s in Eatontown for 15 years and her hobbies included: traveling, seeing shows and shopping but her most favorite pastime was spending time with her grandchildren, who were the most important thing in her life.
Joan is predeceased by her parents and her four brothers.
Surviving is her husband of 46 years, Ralph Romeo; her daughter, Tina Katelhon and her husband, Henry of Wanamassa; her son, Michael Romeo of Eatontown; her three sisters: Louise Bucco of Keyport, Marie Martin of North Jersey and Mary Burlett of Parlin. Also surviving are her five grandchildren: Anthony Romeo, Kathryn Katelhon, Kyle Katelhon, Vincent Romeo and Dominic Romeo.
Visitation will take place at the John E. Day Funeral Home 85 Riverside Ave. Red Bank, NJ 07701 on Thursday, March 4, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9PM. A Funeral Home service will take place on Friday, March 5, 2010 at 10:30 AM with interment to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Middletown.
