MICHAEL L. MAHONEY
Michael L. Mahoney, 27, of Lincroft, passed away on Sunday, March 14, 2010, at JFK Medical Center in Edison. Michael was born in El Paso, Texas, and resided in Lincroft all of his life. He was passionate about his involvement with Boy Scouts during his teenage/young adult years. His involvement included participation in activities at Philmont Scout Reservation (NM), the Boy Scout Jamboree (VA), Pike's Peak trek (CO), the Appalachian Trail trek, and the Maine High Adventure. Michael also worked as a lifeguard at Forestburg Boy Scout Camp (NY). His Boy Scout activities culminated in the receipt of Eagle Scout in Troop 110 in Lincroft. Michael graduated from Middletown South High School in 2001, and received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Rutgers University in 2006. He worked as a Network Engineer for J.P. Morgan Chase in Whippany, NJ, for almost 4 years.
He is survived by his parents Dr. Michael J. Mahoney and Deborah (Comer) Mahoney, of Lincroft; his brother Captain Patrick J. Mahoney, US Army, of Savannah Georgia; two sisters Caitlin Ann Mahoney and Colleen Erin Mahoney, both of Lincroft. Also surviving is his maternal grandmother Henrietta Comer of New Mexico. Michael also leaves behind many extended family members and close friends.
Visitation will take place on Sunday March 21, 2010, from 2pm to 4pm & 7pm to 9pm at the John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Avenue, Red Bank, NJ 07701. A funeral service will take place on Monday at 11am at the funeral home chapel. Interment will remain private.
