Albert C. Ruck, 95, of Red Bank, NJ passed away on September 8, 2019. He was born in Elizabeth, NJ and was a lifelong resident of the shore area. He was employed by the former Central Railroad Company of NJ for 15 years. He served 2 ½ years in the U.S Army and was attached to the 45th Infantry Division during World War II. He was awarded the Purple Heart, Combat Infantry Badge, and the Bronze Star. He was also a prisoner of war in Germany.
Albert was employed as a teacher by Middletown Township Board of Education, retiring after 25 years of service. He belonged to New Jersey Educational Association and the National Educational Association. He was a lifelong member of Disabled American Veterans and a member of the American Legion. He was also a member of Red Bank Elks Lodge 233. He retired from T.J. Maxx having worked in Eatontown for 18 years.
He is predeceased by his son Thomas. He is survived by his two daughters, Janet and Dorothy, and son-in-law, Carl, all of Columbia, MD, his two sons, Richard of Pt. Republic, and Gerald of Leonardo, NJ and his grandchildren, Stefan and Darryl.
A Memorial Gathering will be held at the John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Avenue, Red Bank, NJ 07701 on Saturday October 12, 2019 from 9 – 10:30 a.m. with a service beginning at 10:30 a.m. Interment of cremated remains will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Middletown. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent in Albert’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
