Charles M Hannan, 87, of Middletown NJ passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 22nd. He was born to the late Michael and Mary (Morgan) Hannan in Philadelphia, PA. Charles received his bachelor’s degree from University of Pennsylvania, played minor league baseball, and fought in the Korean War. He raised his family in NJ while working in NYC as a sales manager for Avery/Soabar for 35 years, where he was very well liked and respected. He retired to Deerfield Beach, Florida where he got involved with the American Legion, serving as commander for several years. Three years ago he moved back to NJ to be closer to his kids and grandson.
He is predeceased by siblings Dorothy McLaughlin, Mary, Duke, Mickey, Joe, Ed, and Tom Hannan. Surviving are his sister Peggy Rolfing, former wife Anne (Goetz) Hannan, son Anthony Hannan, daughter Anne Hannan Luce, son-in-law Dave Luce, grandson Connor Luce, and many nieces and nephews, who called him by his nickname, Uncle Chick.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, March 31, 1pm at the home of his daughter.
