Edna J. Ruscio (born Edna J. Pomphrey) passed away peacefully at home on February 12, 2021. She just celebrated her 92nd birthday on January 29th. She was a resident of Rumson for 87 years of her life.
Edna was a wonderful mother, grandmother, mother-in-law and aunt and loved her family and her cat, Oreo. She was a member of Rumson Presbyterian Church where she was baptized and married, was a Sunday School teacher and a member of the Deacons. She worked at Progressive Life Insurance in Red Bank, NJ, where she met her husband, Joseph. After raising her two daughters, JoAnne and Joyce, she returned to work at Prown’s as a bookkeeper in Red Bank, then worked for Fidelity Bank (now Wells Fargo Bank) in Red Bank. She was a Girl Scout leader for many years.
Edna was predeceased by her husband, Joseph, who passed away in 2004 and her daughter, JoAnne Ruscio who passed away in 2020. She was also predeceased by her parents, Edwin and Olive Pomphrey, her sister, Doris P. Robinson, her brothers Frederick, Edwin L., Warren B. and Robert H. She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Repoli and son-in-law Albert, in Tinton Falls, her grandson, Seth Osborn and his fiancée Sahara Smith in Austin, TX. She is also survived by her sister Betty Newman, several nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. Her family was very important to her and she always enjoyed family get-togethers.
