Eileen R. Grossman, 87, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 31, 2021. Eileen was a gracious, loving and kind wife, mother, sister, friend and grandmother. She is now at peace after many years of declining health.
Eileen was born on April 15, 1935, in Trenton, New Jersey and was one of two children of the late Doris and Morris Kalkstein. Eileen was married to Joseph Grossman whom she met in New Jersey and were married on June 14, 1959. They were blessed to have 43 years together as husband and wife when Joseph passed away in June 2002.
Eileen attended school in New Jersey and Florida completing her education at Boston University where she studied education and was active in voice performances in Boston. Eileen devoted her life to supporting her husband, Joe, while raising two children. Eileen lived her life in New Jersey and developed many friendships around the Lincroft, NJ area. Eileen was supportive of her son’s passions from soccer games to scouting during their youth.
She was a friend to many and enjoyed traveling when she was able to make trips to visit her sister in California or visit her son Glenn in Arizona and North Carolina. Eileen enjoyed summer trips to Long Beach Island with her NJ grandchildren. She had a gift to prepare meals and bake. She shared her passion for cooking with her sons. A devoted mother, she was supportive of her son’s pursuits well into their adult years. Eileen was a caring grandmother and enjoyed time with her grandchildren. Eileen enjoyed the times she spent with her local grandchildren, Joseph and Beth, as they matured into their teens.
Those family members left to cherish memories of Eileen are her two children, their spouses and four grandchildren. Joseph and Eileen’s children are Jeffrey Grossman of Freehold, NJ and his wife Barbara A. Grossman, Glenn Grossman and his wife Caroline Bell Grossman of Matthews, North Carolina. Joseph and Eileen have four grandchildren who also loved Elieen: Beth Grossman, Joseph Grossman, Liam Grossman, and Aaron Grossman. Eileen is also survived by her sister Suzanne Galen.
