Ellen P. Soucheck, a resident of Little Silver, passed away at Riverview Medical Center on November 11, 2021, at the age of 57, following her battle with cancer.
Ellen was born in Royal Oak, MI, later moving to New Jersey when her parents decided to return to their home state. After graduating from Rutgers University, Ellen worked as a medical technologist before transitioning into her role as a full-time mother to raise her beloved children. She later returned to the workforce at a local doctor’s office.
Ellen’s greatest joy was her family. Family vacations and her annual trips with her daughters to Eastern State Penitentiary’s “Terror Behind the Walls” not only brought a smile to her face, but were something that she always looked forward to. She was an avid reader, a regular movie-goer and enjoyed completing crosswords and puzzles in her spare time.
Ellen is survived by her loving husband, John, her beloved children, Emily, Kristen and Johnny, her father, John F. Meade, and her brother, John W. Meade. She was pre-deceased by her mother, Joan Meade.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations in Ellen’s memory to the lung cancer program at the Mount Sinai Tisch Cancer Center, where she first received treatment at the start of her cancer journey.
