George A. Brex

George A. Brex, 77, of Red Bank, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2018. He was born in Newark, NJ to the late Francis and Helen (Campfield) Brex. George proudly served our country in the United States Army where he was an 82nd Airborne paratrooper. He was the proud business owner of Monmouth Opticians and a member of the Optical Association. George was a water ski instructor and enjoyed playing pool. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Sandra Brex, his loving children Michael and his wife Jill, and Michelle Brex, his cherished grandchildren Danielle, Kyle, Jenna Lynn, Erin and Jake, his dear brother Frank Brex III, and his nephews Frank III and Jeff Brex.

A visitation will be held at the John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Avenue, Red Bank, NJ 07701 on Thursday June 7, 2018 from 4-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. James RC Church in Red Bank on Friday June 8, 2018 at 10 a.m.  Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be sent in George’s memory to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, Attn: Memorials Processing, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
