Homer left a lasting impression on me, with his take no prisoners approach to life, always moving forward. Driven to fill the ship and make something happen.I have fond memoirs of his tenure at ANZDL. One wonderful memory was driving one night late in the evening from a visit we made in Connecticut to some meat importer heading back to Jersey after a few drinks and needing to make a comfort stop and Homer pulled out a portable urinal from under his seat and emptied it out his window and gave it to me so we would not not have to stop.
That was Homer, always a solution.
Lots of fond memoirs.

Mark, Jennifer and loved ones
I'm sorry for your loss.. It has been a pleasure being a Nephew of Homer. I have a lot of memories that I cherish what little time we had to spend with him. I used to enjoy the stories of his many travels around the world and days of he and my Dad being raised in Victoria Tx. I also had good times in visits to Rockport Tx. I'm glad he came to know the Lord and hope to see him one day to hand him that #9 iron one more time. "I Love You Uncle Homer!"

I only knew your dad recently. I volunteer at Rem and would talk with your dad. We sang the Marine hymn for him--and he would do his best to stand at attention. He will always be my favorite Marine. The photo you have shows his great smile. I am blessed to say I knew him. May he be at peace now.
