James Henry Emmer

June 8, 1941 ~ March 5, 2021 (age 79) 79 Years Old

Tribute

James “Jim” Emmer (6/8/41-3/5/21) peacefully passed away at home surrounded by his family. Son of the late Thomas and Mary Emmer, son-in-law of the late Vincenzo and Anna DePinto, Jim was born and raised in Hoboken, N.J. He met the love of his life, Agatha, at Demarest High School. They married in 1963, moved to South Orange in 1974 and settled in Atlantic Highlands in 1995. After working in the plastic and trucking industry, he started his own company, U.S. Polymers, Inc, of which he was president for 27 years. He generously supported Boys Town, St. Jude’s, March of Dimes, local police and fire departments and Society of Madonna dei Martiri, of which he was the only non-Italian honorary member. Often mistaken for an Italian, he actually was a German-Irishman disguised with a big cigar, fancy car and bottle of wine. He loved baseball, golf, blackjack, Abbott & Costello and collecting sports memorabilia. But his greatest pride and joy were his 4 daughters and 12 grandchildren who he loved unconditionally. And this is his legacy…his devoted 4 daughters and sons-in-law, Aggie Guthrie & James Caratura, Jennifer & David Albers, Mary & Paul Lenskold, Anna & Rob Russo…loving grandfather to Taylor & Kelsey Guthrie, Jamie and husband Jake Costello, Jake & Devon Albers, Jimmy, Jourdan, Tommy & Jackie Lenskold, and Bella, Liana & Bobby Russo. Services are private and by invitation only. Donations may be made in Jim’s name to Boys Town, St. Jude’s or Lewy Body Disease.
