James D. Garcia

Garcia, James D. “Jim” 80 of Ocean, N.J. passed away peacefully on Wednesday July 8, 2020 at the Chelsea in Tinton Falls. He was born to the late Demetrio and Mary ( Scolaro ) Garcia in Bronx, N.Y. Jim proudly and honorably served his country in the U.S. Marines from 1956-1959. He worked as the Director of the Computer Management Division with U.S. Department of Defense. Jim was a member of the Italian Club in Ocean, N.J., loved watching football and was an avid N.Y. Giants fan.

He is predeceased by his son, Kenneth Garcia. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Helena; two children, Ann Marie Henry and her husband, Frederick and Keith Garcia and his wife Martha; four grandchildren, James, Joseph, Shamus, Jack; two great grandchildren, Aubrey and Juliet.

Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, there will be a private memorial gathering for the family and close friends on Saturday, July 18, 2020 from 10 AM to 12 Noon with a prayer service at 11:30 AM at the John E. Day Funeral Home 85 Riverside Ave. Red Bank, N.J. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to St. James R. C. Church – General Fund 94 Broad St. Red Bank, N.J. 07701.
