Jeffrey B. Lown, 79, of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully at home on February 17, 2021. He was born in Stamford, Connecticut to the late Leonard and Mildred (Shantz) Lown. He graduated from Fairfield Preparatory High School and earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Boston College where he met his future wife Maris. They married in 1962 and settled in Rumson NJ to raise their family.
Jeff started his Financial Services career at Chase Manhattan Bank, moved on to Eastman Dillon Union Securities & Co., Stralem & Co. Inc., and Clariden Bank as an Asset Management Executive and Investment Banker. His services were enjoyed by major US Industrial clients such as Anheuser Busch, Dana Corporation and Rockwell International.
Jeff was very active in his community, coaching baseball, basketball, and soccer in the Rumson youth sports leagues. He was the Chair of the Rumson Boy Scouts Leadership Council and was on the Town Planning Board for over 10 years. He enjoyed skiing, fly fishing, tennis, fox hunting, and shooting.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Maris (Barrett) Lown, of 58 years, his loving children, Jay and his wife Kristine, David and his wife Leslie, and Christian and his wife Emily, his grandchildren, Jake, Taylor, Sarah, David, Emily, Ben, and Wills.
A visitation will be held at the John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Avenue, Red Bank, NJ 07701 on Thursday February 25, 2021 from 4 to 7 p.m. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church on Friday February 26, 2021. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Middletown NJ.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be sent in Jeffrey’s memory to the Union County College Foundation 1033 Springfield Avenue, Cranford NJ 07016.
