Barnegat – After battling many years of health issues, JoAnn passed away surrounded by her loving family on January 3, 2019. She was loved by many family and friends.
JoAnn E. Lang was born in September 13, 1950 to Norman & Pauline Vogelsang in Jersey City, NJ as one of seven children. She lived in Jersey City until she was 14. The family then moved to Englishtown, NJ. She married her husband in 1976 and had three children. She lived with her family in Rumson, NJ for many years. She cared for her family as a stay at home mom until 1989, when she reentered the workforce. She spent many years as a secretary before retiring in Barnegat in 2012.
JoAnn is survived by her daughter, Christine Leehr & spouse Chris Leehr, her two sons, Steven & Peter Lang IV, and her grandson Peter Lang V. She is also survived by her two brothers, Norman Vogelsang & spouse Margaret Vogelsong, and Robert Vogelsang, two sisters Barbara Strohmenger & spouse Paul Strohmenger, and Marilyn Pilcher.
JoAnn is predeceased by her parents Norman and Pauline Vogelsang, her sister Linda Welsh, her bother Ronald Vogelsang, and her ex-husband Peter Lang III.
A Memorial Service will be held on January 12, 2019 at John E. Day Funeral Home in Red Bank, NJ from 1-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of choice.
