February 15, 1933 ~ January 26, 2024 (age 90) 90 Years Old
John F. Daly “Jack”, 90 of Colts Neck, NJ passed away peacefully on Friday, January 26, 2024 with his family by his side. He was born on February 15, 1933 in Flushing, NY. He was the seventh child, and only son of John and Anna from Ireland. He grew up making the most of what little they had, and he excelled in both academics and sports. Jack was married to Roberta Koch for sixty years, and together they were blessed with seven children and seven grandchildren who gave them tremendous joy.
Jack was the CEO of Koch Skanska, his 50 year career involved building and renovating major bridges and iconic structures nationwide, including the World Trade Center. His reputation and legacy are well recognized in the construction industry.
Over the years Jack captained boats of many sizes, and it was Roberta who surprised him with his first antique car back in 1990. His passion for antique cars and all the mechanical parts that ran them kept him busy in the last decade of his life. Jack was an active member of several car clubs, making extraordinary new friends along the way. He donated his time and talents to the Allaire Community Farm charity. He was a communicant of Saint Mary Church in Colts Neck and a member of the Men's Morning Office prayer group.
Jack was predeceased by his beautiful wife Roberta, and their children Patricia and Jack Jr.. He is survived by his children Robin, Terry (EunHee), Julia, Erin, Greg (Ellen), his grandchildren James, Brian (Kristina), Casey, Tim, Melanie, Jean Claude and Nicholas, his sisters Helen and Cathy, and all the Daly and Koch relatives.
There will be a visitation on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 from 4-6 at the John E. Day Funeral Home 85 Riverside Ave. Red Bank, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at 10 AM at St. Catharine’s R.C. Church of Holmdel, NJ. Interment will immediately follow at Fair View Cemetery in Middletown.
