Leon Morris Williams Jr., of Highlands, NJ passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on June 17, 2020. Leon was born December 5, 1954 in Camden, NJ to the late Leon Morris Williams Sr. and the late Joan Williams. He is survived by sons Andrew (Kateri) and Kiel (Deanne), sister Jane Williams Kaminski (late Warren), niece Shannon DeGeorge (Brian), stepmother Kathleen Williams, uncle Roger Williams and cousin Deanna Hunt.
Growing up in Magnolia, NJ Leon was very close with his late aunt Eleanor and late uncle George Schock and cousins Ruthie, George, Barbara and late Billy. Leon graduated from Sterling High School in Somerdale, NJ in 1973. Leon went to Catawba College in Salisbury, NC. It was there he met his first wife and mother to his children Dawn Pessolano Williams. Leon then moved to Linwood, NJ where he began his career in the banking industry at First Fidelity Bank. His career later took him to Philadelphia, where he met his second wife Margaret Linkin. Later, he moved to Monmouth County to continue his banking career with Chase Manhattan Bank, eventually making Highlands, NJ his home.
Leon enjoyed playing basketball and golf and was an avid sports fan. He played guitar and loved music, which he passed on to his sons. Leon was always good for a laugh with his quick wit and sarcastic humor. Memorial will be held on June 23, 2020 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Avenue Red Bank, NJ 07701.
