Mary B. Pflug

Mary B. Pflug, 80, of Atlantic Highlands, passed away on July 18, 2020. She was born in Dalkey, County Dublin, Ireland to the late Michael and Mary (Nicholson) Dempsey. In the 1960’s, Mary moved to Brooklyn, NY and eventually settled in Monmouth County, NJ to raise her family. She loved exploring nature, especially bird watching, tending to the flowers in her garden and visiting the beach. Most of all, she cherished the time spent with her children and grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her former husband, Francis Donald Pflug and her siblings, Miriam, Patsy, Bertie, Tony, Gerard and Murtagh. Surviving are her loving children, Jackie and her husband Martin, Sean and his wife Marie and Audrey and her husband Tracy, her cherished grandchildren, Keeley, Shaemus, Maura, Keegan, Ryan, Timothy, Courtney, Tracy Jr., Charlotte and Mollie, her dear sister, Sheila of Gorey, County Wexford, Ireland and her furry companion, Lizzie. She is also survived by many cherished nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Visitation will be held at the John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Avenue, Red Bank, NJ 07701 on Thursday July 23, 2020 from 4 – 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of the Nativity, Fair Haven, NJ on Friday, July 24, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent in Mary’s memory to the Monmouth County SPCA, 260 Wall Street, Eatontown, NJ  07724 or charity of your choice.
