Michael A. Rieger, 55, of Red Bank, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2022. Mike Rieger was the smartest guy in the room. And while his intelligence and boundless energy brought him much professional success, his greatest source of pride was his family. He is survived by his wife, Christine, and daughters, Alexandra and Jacqueline. Mike was born in Red Bank and raised in Lincroft, where he enjoyed hunting quail with his beloved dogs in The Swimming River. This outdoorsy Eagle Scout graduated from St. Leo the Great Elementary School, Christian Brothers Academy, and Rutgers University. He went on to work at Bellcore, IBM and SubCom where he was the Vice President of Sales for fiber optics for the past 22 years – a position that took him all over the world. Somehow, Mike also made plenty of time for playing soccer, tennis, paddle, biking and, of course, coaching his daughters’ youth soccer teams. Every game ended with a pep-talk and ice cream. Mike and Christine were high school sweethearts that married and raised their children in Shrewsbury. He enjoyed family walks with his Bernese Mountain dog, Olaf, in Thompson Park and playing racquet sports together. Mike was a member of Wayside Gun Club and Seabright Lawn Tennis and Cricket Club. He will be dearly missed in both the Red Bank and Siesta Key, Florida communities where he had been residing. He also leaves behind his siblings, BethAnn Arena, Richard Rieger and Suzanne Dolan. His parents-in-law, James and Patricia Supino, sister-and brother-in-law Adrienne Supino and Jon Mackay and many loved nieces and nephews. A Service celebrating Mike’s life will be held Thursday, May 5th at 11:00am at the Navesink Country Club, 50 Luffburrow Lane, Red Bank. In lieu of flowers please consider the following charities that were close to Mike’s heart: BloomAgain Foundation NJ (https://www.bloomagainnj.org/donate.html) and The Wounded Warrior Project (https://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/donate)
