Richard D. Tetley, 89, passed away in Middletown on May 17, 2018.
He was born in Long Branch to the late Harold and Hazel (Dennis) Tetley.
Richard worked for the US Postal service in Little Silver for 40 years. He was a communicant of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Little Silver, a member and former Chief of the Little Silver Fire Department, a charter member of the 1st Aid Squad and a Special Police Officer in town. Richard enjoyed spending quality time with his family, golf, and was an avid Mets fan.
He is survived by his beloved wife Phyllis of 65 years, his loving children and their spouses; Karen DiNocera and Anthony, Robert and Lisa and James and Teri Tetley.
Also, surviving are his adoring grandchildren and their spouses; Cara Varricchio and Thomas, Daniel and Krista DiNocera and Garrett Tetley.
A life celebration will be Sunday, May 20th from 2:00 – 6:00pm at the John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Ave, Red Bank, NJ with a Chapel service at 5:00 pm. Internment will take place at a later date.
