Robert (Bob) Phillips Levenson, 69, of Little Silver, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2018 at Riverview Medical Center hospice.
Bob was born in Melrose, Massachusetts, son of the late John J. and Louise Honore (Phillips) Levenson. He graduated from Rumson Fair Haven Regional High School in 1968. After studies at Ohio Wesleyan and Instituto Allende, San Miguel Mexico, Bob earned a Bachelor’s degree from California College of Arts and Crafts.
Educated as an artist, he was an avid sportsman who loved being outdoors in trout streams or hunting game birds. He combined his artistry and love of fishing as a competitive fly-tier and instructor at Orvis; Bob won several state and regional fly-tying championships. He made flies into jewelry for friends. He was a successful Real Estate Broker with Weichert Realtors in Rumson for 33 years. Bob and Diane traveled around the world pursuing their passions for fly fishing and shooting. He was a movie and history buff who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. They will miss Bob for his caring interest in them.
He is survived by his loving wife / partner of 40 years, Diane Kinnane. His brother, John (Jay) Levenson (wife, Noi), sister Louise (Jill) Spangler (husband, Pastor Ray), along with four nephews and four “great’s” will miss him.
A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be sent in Bob’s memory to Catskill Fly Fish Center & Museum, 1031 Old Rte. 17, Livingston Manor, NY 12758.
