Dr. Ronald Anthony Witkowski

Ronald was born in Jersey City, NJ to Idalia and Adam Witkowski. He attended St. Peter’s Prep, Rutgers University and Rutgers Medical School. During his residency, he was called to serve our country and deployed to Vietnam. He returned a decorated Captain and opened his own family practice in East Harlem, learning Spanish to care for his patients. He also worked at a drug rehabilitation center in the Bronx. He practiced medicine for over 35 years.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary, his son, Ronald and wife, Patricia; his daughter, Mary Beth and husband Kevin Smyth and his son, Gregory and six grandchildren Patrick, Catherine, Ryan, and Daniel Witkowski and Timothy and Elizabeth Smyth. He is also survived by his loving sister, Lorraine and her husband Robert Neger and his brother-in-law, Gregory Judge.
Ron always enjoyed basketball, playing for many years and travelling to NCAA finals. He was fond of singing and creating his own lyrics to the amusement of his family. We will miss his jokes, antics and warm smile. Rest In Peace.
Viewing will be at John Day Funeral Home in Red Bank, NJ on Thursday from 3:00-7:00. A mass of Catholic burial at St. Catharine’s in Holmdel at 10:30 on Friday. He will be interred at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in his name to Odyssey House NYC, a drug rehabilitation center in Harlem and the Bronx.
