Shane A Mason

Shane A. Mason, 40, of Highlands, passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 6, 2021.  Shane grew up in Little Silver, the son of Ernest and Patricia Ann (Hemingway) Mason. He was a graduate of Red Bank Catholic High School, Class of 1999. After high school he received a scholarship to swim at Tufts University.

Shane was a foodie who had a passion for cooking.  He also enjoyed the outdoors, especially walking the beaches and trails with his beloved basset hound, Gus. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed following the Boston Red Sox, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Pittsburgh Pirates. 

He was predeceased by his father, Ernest in 2018 and his mother, Patricia in March of 2021. 

Shane is survived by his loving brother, Ryan P. Mason of Red Bank, Aunts: Kay Vilardi of Little Silver and Gail (James) Cullen of Locust, Uncles: Brian (Lisa) Mason of Freehold and Kevin Mason (Patty Pierce) of Howell.  Cousins: Brooks (Kelly) Cullen , Nicole Vilardi and Fredrica (Ernesto) Vilardi del Valle, all of Little Silver, Daniel (Erin) Mason of PA and Andrew (Julia) Mason of VA.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. James Roman Catholic Church in Red Bank, NJ on Tues., Oct 19th at 10:30am.
