Virginia Rizzo

Virginia Rizzo, 85, of Lincroft, passed away on October 19, 2020 at Riverview Medical Center. She was born in New York, NY to the late Peter and Frances (Celio) Tamburri. She loved animals, especially her beloved dogs, Baby and Sandy, and cats. Virginia always had a green thumb and enjoyed caring for her many houseplants. She was an excellent cook and homemaker. She will be remembered for her feisty attitude and as a generous mother and grandmother.

She is predeceased by her husband, Joseph Rizzo in 2019.  Surviving are her loving children, Mary, and her partner, Whitney; Susan, and her husband, Christopher; and Ginger, and her husband Chip. She leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Michael, Tony, Joey and James, her dear sisters, Debbie and Louise, and her nephew, Louis.

A visitation will be held at the John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Avenue, Red Bank, NJ 07701 on Saturday October 24, 2020 from 2 -5 p.m. with a service beginning at 4:30 p.m. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent in Virginia’s memory to the Monmouth County SPCA
