Walter C. Johnson

Walter C. Johnson, 75, of Red Bank, passed away on Monday, January 10, 2022. Walter was born in Camden, NJ on October 4, 1946 to Yancey and Dorothy (nee: Hurdle) Johnson.

Walter will be remembered as a devoted husband, generous friend and loving grandfather who would never miss a basketball game or dance recital. Also known as Papa, he had a love for sports, traveling and donuts. After retiring from a 48-year career in food service, he put his talents to use cooking and baking for family, especially around the holidays. Papa will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.

Walter is predeceased by his parents, Yancey and Dorothy Johnson, his brother Jeru Bryant and his sister Terry Johnson.
Surviving Walter is his loving wife of 37 years, Patricia Johnson of Red Bank, NJ, his children; Colleen Thaler, Lisa Kenny and husband Terrance, and Patty Cox, his grandchildren; Shannon and Ryan Thaler. And his sister in-law Jane Bryant. Also surviving Walter are his many friends in the Shadow Lake Community.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. A service at the funeral home will take place at 4:00 PM.
