Marie M Gillespie

Marie Matson Gillespie, 95, of Red Bank, passed away on February 18, 2017 at the Atrium. She was born on September 15, 1921 in Brooklyn, NY. She was the daughter of the late Martin and Mary (nee: Carswell) Matson.

Marie was employed as a secretary at Ford Motor Company in NYC for 5 years until she began working with the U.S. Steel Corp. in NYC as an Executive Secretary for 20 years.

Marie was predeceased in death by her husband, Harold S. Gillespie in 1992 and her two sisters, Ann Tranter and Violet Frisenda and her nephew, Vincent Tantillo. She is survived by her niece, Linda Tantillo and her grandnephews, Robert V. Tantillo and Thomas P. Tantillo.

Visitation will be at the John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Avenue, Red Bank, NJ on Monday February 27, 2017 from 10AM -12 noon. A service will be held at the funeral home beginning at 12 noon. Interment will follow at Fair View Cemetery in Middletown.
